Visitors to KLCC Park recently had the opportunity to express their creativity during a unique art appreciation class, surrounded by greenery and skyscrapers.
Organised by Galeri Petronas in collaboration with Faber-Castell, the inaugural “Art In The Park” programme saw 40 participants discovering their inner artist as they roamed the park to capture scenic landscapes.
The two-hour session was facilitated by visual artist Tang Yeok Khang, who guided participants to create bold drawings using contrasting colours.
Tang said his involvement in the programme allowed him to engage with the community to appreciate art in their own way
Nurshida Zainudin, 29, said she took advantage of the art programme to expose her family to art.
“We brought our eight-year old son Muhamad Aniq Nazran and his nine-year-old cousin Muhammad Afif Irfan to enjoy some artistic and creative fun as it was the school holidays.
“My husband and I are always on the lookout for activities like this for our son,” said Nurshida.
The art appreciation class was not limited to young children as even adults participated.
Jupiter Teh, 24, and Eelin Leong, 22, wanted to spend time together doing something fun.
“Activities like this are a refreshing alternative to spending our weekends in shopping malls.”
