More aid on the way

Collective effort: Gama staff members sorting out cartons of essential items to be sent to flood victims in the east coast states.

GAMA Supermarket and Departmental Store in Penang has sent several tonnes of food and essential items to flood victims in the east coast.

Its advertising, promotions and visual merchandising manager Joseph Tan said approximately 120 cartons of aid were delivered recently.

These included drinking water, canned food, biscuits, diapers, blankets, sanitary napkins and disposable underwear donated by the company.

The supermarket also ran a week-long donation drive which managed to attract staff mem-bers and the public who generously contributed to the good cause.

The collected items filled up another 80 cartons which were then dispatched to affected ones on Jan 5.

“It is important for Malaysians of all walks of life to come together and help those who are suffering during this time of need,” Tan said while also thanking everyone for the show of kindness and support.
