Gowns, gowns, gowns and more gowns. The celebrities on the red carpet at the 2020 Academy Awards returned to old Hollywood glamour this year. It was one classic, chic look after another.

Yet, there were attempts to “dress up” the looks with daring embellishments. Low cut bodices featured heavily, as were over-the-top ruffles and frills. Loud colours and shimmering metallics remained mainstays too.
