A conference commemorates the 10th anniversary of the passing of theatre doyen Krishen Jit.
IN interviews he had given over the decades, the late Krishen Jit (1940-2005) mentioned, more than once, that he can’t write plays, can’t sing, can’t dance, and can’t act. But for all his self-professed cannots, he did it all, anyway. He produced and directed plays in both English and Malay, taught theatre to students, and was a newspaper theatre critic for almost four decades.
