Review: Loopified by Dirty Loops

At first, it’s easy to dismiss Dirty Loops as another dance pop trio, but it will surprise you with its ability to seamlessly mix pop and jazz.

Formed in 2008, the Swedish trio consists of vocalist Jonah Nilsson, bassist Henrik Linder with drummer Aron Mellergardh. For its debut album Loopified, they got David Foster and Andreas Carlsson listed as executive producers.

Opening track Hit Me is a fast-paced pop number that will get you dancing right away. The groove continues with Sexy Girls, another club anthem.

The trio then takes on Avicii’s Wake Me Up and gives it a smooth, laidback jazzy feel. They pick up the energy again on dance track Die For You, which ends with an exhilarating jazz piano solo.

If you like fast-paced pop music that sounds like it’s stuck on an endless loop mixed with a little bit of instrumental jazz, then Dirty Loops' debut album is the thing for you.

Digi customers can listen to these tracks on their smartphones without worrying about bill shock when they activate Digi Music Freedom. From now until Sept 30, fans can activate the service for free and get 120 days of unlimited music streaming. Find out more at musicfreedom.my.
