A study by researchers at Lund University in Sweden – published in the journal Case Studies on Transport Policy and available via Science Direct – highlights some of the ways that car traffic can be reduced in city centres.
Among the most effective are the introduction of a congestion charge, as well as the creation of car-free streets and segregated bike lanes.
