An European Union-wide mask requirement for flights and airports will be lifted from this week, the bloc’s aviation safety agency said on May 11 (2022), as the Covid-19 pandemic eases in Europe.
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) said that under the new guidance developed with the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), airlines would nevertheless still have some scope to demand face and nose covering by passengers and staff.
