Princess Sofia debuts on Disney Channel

'Sofia The First' premieres on Disney Channel on May 19.

There's a new princess in town and her name is Sofia. She makes her debut on Disney Channel (Astro, channel 615) on May 19, 2013, at 11am.

The animated series, entitled Sofia The First, is about Sofia, a princess-in-training. In the storybook world of Enchantia, Sofia, an average little girl, is whisked to a castle when her mother marries the King.

Helped by Fauna, Flora and Merryweather (the beloved fairies in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty) and with wise words from Cinderella, Sofia learns how to fit in with her new family and discovers that looking like royalty is easy but what makes a true princess are qualities like honesty, loyalty, courage, independence, compassion and grace.

Kids can make a princess morning by starting the day off with Tangled (9am) followed by Tangled Ever After (10.55am) and then the premiere of Sofia The First.

There is a repeat of Sofia The First at 7pm. The series makes its Disney Junior premiere on May 27 at 1pm.
