Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and Malaysian singer-actress Bella Astillah are offering fans a closer look at their relationship through their upcoming reality series, Walimatul Urus Bella Astillah & Syed Saddiq.
At a press conference in Kuala Lumpur last week, the couple said the show would chronicle their love story, their journey towards marriage and what lies ahead for them.
Bella, whose full name is Dayang Nabellah Awang Astillah, admitted that she was initially nervous when discussions about collaborating with Astro on the series began.
However, she felt it was time for her and Syed Saddiq to give fans a more personal glimpse into their lives together.
"Many fans already know that Syed Saddiq and I frequently do live streams together, but we have never talked in detail about how we first got acquainted and so on," Bella, 32, said.
She added: "This journey is very meaningful to us, especially because we get to share these happy moments with our family, my two children, Ayden and Ara, and everyone who has supported us.
"May this story become a sweet memory that we will cherish forever."
Meanwhile, Syed Saddiq, 33, said he has always reminded Bella that happiness is something that should be shared with everyone.
"Without their prayers, support and encouragement, our journey together might not be the same as it is today. Everyone has a role in making our journey a success," he said.
The former youth and sports minister added that he is eagerly anticipating their wedding day on Oct 10 at Menara Merdeka Maybank in KL.
"I cannot wait to share this happy day with everyone, especially my family and friends who have been waiting for a long time," he said.
Walimatul Urus Bella Astillah & Syed Saddiq comprises eight episodes.
The first two episodes, which document the couple's journey towards their wedding day, will premiere tomorrow (Oct 6) and Wednesday at 11pm, respectively, on Astro Ria (Ch 104), Astro Go and Sooka.
The third episode will feature a live stream of Bella and Syed Saddiq's Oct 10 wedding ceremony, beginning at 9am on Astro Ria, Astro Prima (Ch 105), Astro Awani (Ch 501), Astro Go, Sooka and Astro Gempak.
The fourth episode will feature a live stream of the pair's reception in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 18, beginning at 8pm on Astro Prima, Sooka, Astro Go and Astro Gempak.
The remaining episodes, which will document the couple's life after marriage and preparations for their honeymoon, will premiere Tuesdays at 11pm from Oct 27 onwards on Astro Ria, Astro Go and Sooka.
