Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung's roast meat restaurant, Six Hub Roast House, in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, has reopened after a two-day closure.
Located along Jalan SS2/66, the restaurant resumed operations on Aug 26, after being shut down by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) on Aug 24 for occupying part of a public space.
Speaking to China Press, a restaurant representative said rectification works began immediately after the closure notice was issued.
"The main issue was that our barbecue grills had been placed in the back alley, occupying public space. We immediately rearranged the equipment in the kitchen that day to make room for the barbecue grills," he said.
He added that the restaurant had expanded its kitchen facilities after seeing strong business following its grand opening on Aug 10.
The additional equipment was intended to increase production capacity and reduce customer waiting times.
As part of the rectification, the restaurant reduced the number of stoves in its kitchen from four to two, freeing up space for three barbecue grills.
The representative also appealed to customers for patience as the restaurant adjusts to its reduced kitchen capacity.
"Before the city council inspected us, we had already rented an upstairs unit to serve as an additional kitchen and dining area. However, it is still undergoing renovations and is expected to be completed in a few more weeks," he said.
Meanwhile, the representative dismissed rumours that Six Hub Roast House had been ordered to close because its employees had not received typhoid vaccinations.
However, he acknowledged that the restaurant had overlooked the submission of certain documents, which have since been handed to the MBPJ.
"After we submitted the outstanding documents, they immediately arranged for officers to inspect our premises and approved the removal of the closure seals," he said.
Despite the temporary closure, the restaurant continues to attract interest among diners.
According to China Press, a group of customers was already queuing outside the restaurant on Aug 26, even before the closure seals had been removed.
