Paris Jackson said she underwent painful electroconvulsive therapy treatments to get her life on the right track.

The 28-year-old daughter of the late pop star Michael Jackson said she underwent nine shock therapy treatments in three weeks to overcome suicidal ideations in a recent On Purpose With Jake Shetty podcast.

“You go in, you get your hospital gown, they knock you out, strap you down, put a bite guard on your mouth — electrocute you,” she recalled.

Jackson insisted the physicians administering her treatments used a general anesthetic to render her unconscious. But she said the earlier sessions were uncomfortable because it took doctors time to figure out what dosage of painkillers she required to make the experience tolerable.

“I’m very anal about, like, if I’m going to be going under, what are you giving me, what are you not?”

Her father died from an overdose of the intravenous anesthetic propofol in 2009. His personal physician was charged with involuntary manslaughter.

She recalled the first treatment causing an extremely sharp pain in her head.

“It’s soreness from getting electrocuted,” she said.

Jackson, who said she’s been sober for more than six years, also said she self-medicated with drugs and alcohol earlier in life. There were several times she hit what should’ve been rock bottom and kept going.

“I’ve had plenty of experiences that were scary enough to have gotten me sober, but I just wasn’t ready,” she said.

Jackson is the daughter of Debbie Rowe, who was married to the King of Pop from 1996 to 2000. She released her first album in 2006 and has a new one called Happiest Day Of My LIfe scheduled for release Aug 21.
