Canadian actress Christy Chung treated her second daughter Jaden to a meaningful and lavish gift to celebrate her 18th birthday.

During a recent livestream, Jaden revealed that her mother had gifted her a bracelet from French luxury jeweller Cartier.

Holding up the elegant piece to the camera, she explained the sentimental meaning behind the design.

“This gift is special because of its lock-inspired design. It symbolises that my mum’s heart and mine are forever locked together,” she said.

Reports from Hong Kong media indicate that the bracelet appears to be the smaller model of Cartier’s Love Bracelet, which carries a price tag of HK$39,600 (RM20,570).

Many netizens were astonished that Chung, 55, was willing to splurge on such an expensive gift for her daughter, while others praised the thoughtful meaning behind her choice.

For the record, Chung shares two daughters – Jaden and Cayla, 16 – with her second husband, Taiwanese music producer Jon Yen, whom she divorced in 2011.

Chung, who is married to Chinese actor Shawn Zhang, is also mother to 28-year-old Yasmine Ross from her first marriage to businessman Glen Ross, which lasted from 1998 to 2002.
