Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh is celebrating her 51st birthday in style, marking the occasion with friends, family and fellow celebrities.

In the lead-up to her birthday on May 28, the popular star enjoyed several gatherings, including a mahjong session with actress Sandra Ng, singer Edan Lui and Yip Leung before cutting her birthday cake.

The celebrations continued well beyond her birthday.

On June 16, Sheh shared photos on Instagram from a larger gathering attended by cast members of The Queen Of News, hip-hop duo FAMA and actor Louis Koo.

According to Dimsum Daily, Koo's attendance came as no surprise given the long-standing friendship between their families. Reports have noted that the actor's mother and Sheh's mother are close friends.

Describing the event as "a very special evening", Sheh thanked everyone for their birthday wishes in the caption accompanying the photos.

The post was soon flooded with messages from friends, colleagues and fans. Among those who left birthday greetings were actors Matthew Ho and Kris Lam, as well as singer Hacken Lee.

Judging by the photos, Sheh appeared to thoroughly enjoy the celebration, sharing plenty of smiles with the guests who joined her on the special occasion.
