Hong Kong artiste Steven Cheung has struggled to land performance gigs since a 2019 scandal, when he married a woman named Au Yin Man while still dating actress April Leung.

In the years since, the 41-year-old has faced financial difficulties and has taken on various odd jobs to support his family of six – including cable wiring, construction work and food delivery, among others.

He most recently shared a photo of himself resting at the back of a delivery truck, revealing he has been working in the logistics sector for nearly a year now.

Despite his attempts to rebuild his life and reputation, Cheung continues to face criticism from some quarters.

According to Hong Kong news portal Dimsum Daily, an online group recently named him among the city’s “four worst men”, alongside actor Augustine Lee, Peter Mui – the brother of the late diva Anita Mui – and singer Roy Chow.

The post quickly drew critical comments from netizens and eventually reached Cheung himself, who simply responded: “Thank you.”

His self-deprecating reply stunned many users, with some praising him for his maturity and willingness to confront criticism head-on.

Others urged critics to give the former Boyz member grace, noting that acknowledging past mistakes and making efforts to change deserved recognition.
