Every year, Aniq Suhair has his baju raya tailored.

But this time around, the actor has had to settle for a ready-made one – simply because work has been keeping him too busy.

The 25-year-old, who rose to fame through the reality competition Hero Remaja 2019/2020, has been steadily building his acting resume with projects such as the dramas Sekali Lagi Cinta Kembali, The Maid 2 and Cinta Bersemi Di Wadi Safiyyah, as well as the film Chomel.

He can currently be seen in Viu’s micro drama I Love You So Mochi.

“I prefer the Baju Melayu cekak musang cut that’s not too slim-fit – even a little loose,” he tells StarLifestyle.

The Kajang-born actor, who is the eldest of five siblings, says one of his favourite Hari Raya moments comes right after the morning Raya prayers and the traditional bersalam-salaman with family members.

That’s when it’s time to enjoy lemang – with rendang made by none other than Aniq himself.

“I can cook both beef rendang and chicken rendang,” he says.

“I’ll be cooking again this year, probably two days before Hari Raya.”

So what’s the secret to making a delicious rendang?

“The trick is to learn to cook it,” he says with a laugh.

Aniq shares that he learned the dish from his grandmother – and more importantly, her approval means he must be doing something right.
