Wellness influencer Gabriela Martins Santos de Moura has died at 31 following complications during an in vitro fertilization procedure.

The Brazilian therapist reportedly suffered cardiorespiratory arrest at the private Sao Paulo clinic where she was undergoing the procedure, according to local outlet G1.

Her family said Santos de Moura was hospitalised in a coma for eight days before her death on Tuesday (Feb 24). The family is currently in the process of bringing her body back to Teresina, where she was born.

The content creator’s tragic death came just one day after her eighth wedding anniversary with her husband, surgeon Samuel Moura, whom she married in February 2018.

One of her family members, Enilson Campelo de Carvalho, honoured her in an Instagram reel with photos and a heartfelt message.

“Today the world became a little quieter; we lost a great friend, godmother, therapist, family member!” he wrote, according to a translation. “Those who knew Gabi know that she lived everything intensely. They say life is short, but Gabi proved that life can be immense if we have the courage to pursue our dreams. She said she would do it and she did it, nothing was left for later.”

Santos de Moura’s online presence focused on topics including mindfulness, neuroscience and positive psychology, according to her Instagram bio.

Her last post, shared on Feb 13, was a video in which she discussed the “art of pausing,” “science as care” and the “mindfulness of breathing.” – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
