Taiwanese actress Joe Chen recently rang in Chinese New Year with her husband, Malaysian artist Alan Chen, celebrating the festive season in his home country.

On Feb 21, Joe shared on Instagram photos from the celebrations – six featuring her in her CNY outfit and another showing a lavish reunion spread she enjoyed with her husband’s family.

The 46-year-old kept the caption simple, writing: “Happy Chinese New Year.”

During her stay, Joe – who has often expressed her fondness for Malaysia – made sure to immerse herself in the local culture.

As the festivities coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, the Fated To Love You star paid a visit to a bazaar, where she sampled a wide array of traditional kuih.

“I can’t resist sweet and fried foods,” she said.

The actress also delighted fans by excitedly showing off a dress she purchased for just RM10, adding: “The outfit I bought at a night market (in Malaysia) yesterday.”

Many netizens have since flooded the comments with well-wishes for Joe and Alan, who is nine years her junior, while others couldn’t help but gush over her beauty.

“I really love your outfits. You always know how to style them,” one fan wrote.

Another said: “Isn’t this Joe’s fourth CNY in Malaysia? Wishing her and her husband prosperity.”

Joe and Alan registered their marriage in Taiwan on March 31, 2022.

The couple, who met in 2019 on the dating show Meeting Mr Right, held their wedding reception in Langkawi, Kedah, on Sept 22, 2024.
