Hong Kong star Natalie Tong, 44, has found success in her career as an actress and, more recently, as the owner of a bakery.

Her love life, however, has been far less smooth, with none of her relationships lasting thus far. Among her more high-profile partners were fellow celebrities Shawn Yue, Amigo Choi and Tony Hung, as reported by several outlets.

Known for her easygoing and tolerant personality, the former TVB star was dubbed “The Best Girlfriend” by netizens for reportedly choosing to forgive her partners despite experiencing betrayal in her relationships.

Recently, she appeared on a YouTube talk show, where she opened up about her past heartbreaks. During the programme, Tong revealed that she had once heard of an old boyfriend staying in contact with another woman.

As someone who believes in “seeing is believing”, she initially dismissed the rumours. It was only later, when she discovered that he had indeed gotten back together with his ex-girlfriend, that she was forced to accept the truth.

“I remember crying in a park for an entire night,” she said.

At the time, Tong was in the midst of filming. A production assistant who lived nearby noticed her distress and stayed with her through the night until around 5am the next morning.

She added that while she had heard of past boyfriends cheating on her, she never personally witnessed any of them with another woman. Even so, she confessed, the emotional blow was devastating.

Tong went on to admit to the hosts that she used to blindly defend her boyfriends.

However, she said her perspective has changed with age and experience. She has learned to cherish and love herself more.

Despite the heartbreaks, Tong is still open to finding love.

She shared that she is attracted to men with a sense of humour, adding that first impressions play a key role in whether she would consider a relationship.
