Hong Kong movie star Chow Yun Fat may be 70, but he's showing no signs of slowing down.

According to reports, the actor took part in the annual Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon on Jan 18, completing the 10km run in two hours and 23 seconds.

Adding to the moment, the on-site DJ at Victoria Park welcomed Chow across the finish line by playing the theme song from his classic film God Of Gamblers.

In an interview with Hong Kong media, Chow said he ran alongside friends and fellow actors, including Nina Paw Hee-ching, 76, and Kent Cheng, 74.

"Collectively, we add up to several hundred years old," he said, as quoted by South China Morning Post.

Commenting on his finishing time, Chow emphasised that the run was never about the clock but about the joy of running alongside his friends.

He also hopes his participation in the marathon will inspire more older people to stay active and take part in sports.

For the record, Chow started jogging some 10 years ago and has since considered it a significant part of his life.

He's frequently spotted going for his morning runs and would occasionally oblige to a selfie or two with fans.

In a previous interview with Hong Kong media, Chow said jogging has allowed him to meet and befriend many people from all walks of life.

"Whether I'm jogging alone or with a group of friends, it's a rewarding and enjoyable activity for me now," he said.
