Spencer Lofranco (pic), an actor known for Gotti and Unbroken, died Tuesday at age 33, according to his family.

The actor’s brother, Santino Lofranco, announced Spencer died last week in an Instagram post on Thursday.

“My brother,” he captioned a carousel of photos. “You lived a life only some could dream of. You changed people[‘s] lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you Bear. RIP.”

A cause of death was not revealed.

TMZ reported Thursday that Lofranco’s death is under investigation in British Columbia.

Born in 1992 in Toronto, Lofranco made his film debut in 2013’s At Middleton, a comedy about a college campus tour starring Andy Garcia, Vera Farmiga and Nicholas Braun.

The next year, he starred as a young convict alongside Ving Rhames and Mary-Louise Parker in Jamesy Boy and had a supporting role in Angelina Jolie’s WWII-set prisoner-of-war drama Unbroken, which starred Jack O’Connell and Domhnall Gleeson and received three Oscar nominations.

His final film credit came in 2018’s Gotti where he played John A. Gotti opposite John Travolta as the titular mobster.

“I was always a funny guy, always trying to make people laugh and always the centre of attention,” Lofranco told Interview magazine in 2014. “I guess I was being an actor my whole life. I finally realised what I was doing and it was just getting me in trouble.”

According to social media, Lofranco moved to Surrey, BC, in 2021. In his last Instagram post, he informed followers he was having a face tattoo removed and encouraged them to subscribe to his OnlyFans. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
