Malaysian rapper Namewee is looking for job opportunities following his release on bail amid ongoing investigations into the murder of Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh.

In an Instagram post on Monday (Nov 17), Namewee, whose real name is Wee Meng Chee, revealed that all of his work through the end of 2026 have been axed.

"Since the case is still under trial, and the report has yet to be released, it will take several more months before there's any result," the 42-year-old wrote.

In the meantime, Namewee said he's open to part-time work and flexible on fees.

"I can make fried chicken cutlets, fried rice, curry, wash pots and even install iron bars. If there's something I don't know, I can learn. Any income is fine," he wrote.

Namewee added that he's also looking for sponsors for his upcoming Chinese New Year song after the previous sponsor withdrew, reportedly due to the rapper's arrest.

He promised that the upcoming track will be free of vulgar and inappropriate content, adding that it's much better than any of his previous CNY songs.

"If the music video gets less than 10 million views, half the sponsorship amount will be refunded. If something goes wrong before CNY, a full refund will be given," he wrote.

For the record, Namewee was detained by police in connection with Hsieh's death on Nov 5.

Authorities had her death as murder after initially treating it as sudden death.

Investigations showed that Namewee was the last person seen with the victim in a hotel room on Oct 22.

He was later arrested over alleged drug possession and use but was released after pleading not guilty to the charges at the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court on Oct 24.

On Nov 12, Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar stated that there was no evidence linking Namewee to Hsieh's death, and he would be released on police bail.

Namewee later shared in a statement that he had done everything he could to save Hsieh but to no avail.
