Fitness influencer and bodybuilder Diana Areas has died at 39 after falling from her apartment building, according to reports from her native Brazil.

Areas was found dead shortly before 12.30pm Thursday (Nov 13) in a common area of her apartment complex in Campos, reported local outlet J3News. She was found after she allegedly plunged from the top floor of the property, according to Noticia Urbana.

Sources told the latter outlet that Areas and her partner, Ricardo Galossi, had been arguing shortly before her death, and that he was the one who contacted authorities.

The Civil Police of Campos have opened an investigation into the bodybuilder’s death, but the exact cause of her fall remains unknown.

The morning before authorities found her body, Areas reportedly went to the hospital with cuts to her wrists and neck, a spokesperson for the Ferreira Machado Hospital confirmed to local media.

They said she received treatment, including a tetanus shot and stitches, but left before being discharged by doctors.

Areas had grown her Instagram audience to 200,000 by posting workout routines, nutrition tips and updates on her bodybuilding journey.

Just five days before her death, her final post was promoting an upcoming summer challenge as she encouraged her followers to participate.

Fans have since flooded the post with tributes, with one comment reading, “Rest in peace, my friend. May your soul find peace there with our Father. We’re sorry we couldn’t help you.” – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
