Local rapper Namewee turned himself in to authorities in the early hours of Nov 5, pledging full cooperation in the investigation into the death of Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yun Hsi.

According to Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sazalee Adam, the 42-year-old will be remanded until Nov 10.

Exclusive photos from China Press showed Namewee's longtime girlfriend of 15 years Sarah standing by his side as he entered the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.

The rapper was also accompanied by his lawyer Joshua Tay H'ng Foong.

According to reports, Sarah – who also serves as Namewee's stylist and makeup artist – often accompanies him to Taiwan for work.

Despite his bold and straightforward persona, Namewee has mostly kept his relationship with his non-celebrity partner on the down low.

While he has shared numerous photos of Sarah with his colleagues on social media, he often covers her face with stickers out of respect for her privacy.

The couple is said to share a strong and stable relationship, with rumours suggesting they plan to settle down in Taiwan in the future.

Namewee once admitted that while his appearance might give the impression of a womaniser, he's actually very loyal when in a relationship.

It's also reported that whenever he collaborates with female artistes, he makes a point to introduce them to Sarah first.
