Renowned Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh has promised to take care of Angeli Lung, the wife of late actor Benz Hui, and their family.

During a recent press conference in Hong Kong, the 50-year-old shared that despite her busy schedule, she has been helping the Hui family with funeral arrangements.

“They are financially secure, but they need time to recover emotionally. I also communicate with them to offer encouragement,” she said.

Sheh, who shared a father-daughter bond with Hui, revealed that Lung once asked her whether she would still care about them now that the actor had passed away.

“I smiled and told her not to be silly. I’ll definitely take care of them,” she recalled.

The award-winning actress believed that Hui must now be a source of joy in heaven, just as he was in real life.

“He would definitely want us to live happily. He was very dedicated throughout his whole life, and I’ll uphold his spirit and work hard,” she said.

Sheh added that Hui will be appearing as her boss in the upcoming TVB drama, Themis.

“His role is special – he plays a cheerful and funny boss. Everyone can look forward to seeing his wonderful performance once the series airs next year,” she said.

Hui died from multiple organ failure due to cancer on Oct 28 at the age of 76.

He leaves behind his wife, daughter Charmaine and son-in-law Shane Sim.

His funeral will be held at the Po Fook Memorial Hall in Tai Wai, Hong Kong, on Nov 17, with cremation to follow the next day.
