Hong Kong actress-singer Cecilia Cheung has had a packed schedule over the past month, that took her across several cities in China.

One report noted that she had filming and public appearance commitments in Mongolia, Beijing and Chongqing.

After weeks on the road, Cheung finally returned home to Hong Kong – and her first stop was a practical one. She went to her local wet market.

Understandably, the mother of three boys needed to restock her kitchen after being away. According to reports, the 45-year-old shared snippets of her market visit on social media, showing her excitement as she moved from stall to stall.

Regular patrons and stall owners seemed to know her well, greeting her cheerfully and wishing her good morning.

As reported by Dimsum Daily, Cheung stopped by a seasonal vegetable stall to pick up Chinese kale, and later visited another shop selling handmade glutinous rice balls, which she revealed are a favourite of her domestic helper.

Embracing her love for the local market, Cheung jokingly called herself the “Market Queen”.

She explained: “I really love coming to the market. I constantly find excuses to visit – I come Monday through Friday because I need to drive my son to school, and I come on Saturdays because I don’t have to drive my son to school.

"Visiting the market in the morning brings me such happiness. This time I’m just buying a few small things.”
