Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s shocking split has their inner circle thinking the country music star is suffering a midlife crisis, according to a new report.

Per TMZ, Urban’s “close confidants” suspect he’s going through a middle-aged meltdown, which has seen him make no shortage of surprising decisions, including the separation from his Oscar-winning wife.

Sources also claimed the Grammy winner fired his entire band — with whom he shared the stage for decades — back in January.

Insiders last week confirmed to TMZ that Kidman and 57-year-old Urban, both native Australians, have been living separately “since the beginning of summer.” It seemed at first there was hope for reconciliation between the long-time pair, but on Tuesday, one day after news of their split nabbed headlines, the 58-year-old Babygirl star officially filed for divorce, moving to end their marriage after nearly 20 years.

According to filings, Kidman has requested primary custody of their children. They share two daughters, 17-year-old Sunday Rose and 14-year-old Margaret Faith.

The former couple wed on June 25, 2006 after meeting a year and a half earlier. Kidman celebrated their 19th anniversary this year with an Instagram post captioned, “Happy Anniversary Baby [heart emoji] @KeithUrban.” The post came just days after the pair was spotted in public together for the last time, during an appearance at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Kidman was previously married to Tom Cruise, with whom she adopted baby girl Bella in 1992 and newborn son Connor in 1995. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
