Chinese actor Yu Menglong, known for his role in the popular 2017 drama Eternal Love, has passed away. He was 37.

In a statement released on Weibo, Yu’s management agency confirmed that he fell to his death on Thursday (Sept 11). Authorities have ruled out criminal involvement.

“May the deceased rest in peace, and may the living remain strong,” the agency wrote.

According to reports, Yu fell from the fifth floor of a residence in Beijing’s Chaoyang district.

A paparazzi claimed on Weibo that Yu had attended a dinner at a friend’s home on Sept 10 and retired to one of the bedrooms around 2am, locking the door behind him.

At about 6am, as his friends were preparing to leave, they were unable to find Yu. His body was reportedly discovered on the ground floor by a resident walking their dog.

The post has since been removed, and Weibo has suspended several accounts for spreading baseless rumorus about Yu’s passing.

Yu made his acting debut in the 2011 short film The Little Prince and gained recognition with his performance as the Ninth Prince in the popular web drama Go Princess Go (2015).

Over the years, he has made a name for himself with shows such as Xuan-Yuan Sword: Han Cloud (2017), All Out Of Love (2018), The Legend Of White Snake (2019), The Love Lasts Two Minds (2020) and more.

Beyond his acting career, Yu is also a talented singer, having released 15 singles since entering the music industry in 2007.
