"Danger" kiss cam at the Coldplay concert.

After the camera caught Andy Byron, now former CEO of the company Astronomer, together with Kristin Cabot, head of Human Resources and alleged lover, in a video that went viral and cost the man his job, Chris Martin wanted to "warn" his audience. During the last of the band's summer shows, Chris Martin addressed the audience directly and joked about the "kiss cam gate".

"We would like to greet some of you in the crowd," Martin said into the microphone, prompting screams, and some laughter, from the audience, "How can we do that? We will use our cameras and show some of you on the big screens. So please, if you need to put on makeup, do it now," the singer concluded, triggering a roar from the crowd.

Andy Byron resigned as CEO of Astronomer on July 19, after being caught up in the "kiss cam gate" at the Coldplay concert. The company had initially suspended him after seeing the images, which went viral, from the US band's concert held on July 16 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and then accepted Byron's resignation.

"As previously stated, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, this standard has not been met," the company wrote in an official statement.

"Andy Byron has tendered his resignation and the board has accepted. The Board will begin the search for the next CEO as co-founder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO. Prior to this week, we were known as pioneers in the DataOps space, helping data teams support everything from modern analytics to production AI."

The embarrassing skit portrays the two executives of the New York technology company caught in a tender embrace and projected on the big screen, hurrying to hide their faces once framed. The video went viral in a few hours on the web, getting millions of views on social platforms for the alleged betrayal of the two caught red-handed.

The company Astronomer broke the silence in a post on X stating that it had launched a formal investigation into the matter.

"Astronomer is committed to upholding the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. We expect our leaders to set standards in both conduct and accountability,” the statement read.

The company added that it had launched a formal investigation into the matter, promising to share further details shortly. –  Adnkronos International, Rome/Tribune News Service
