South Korean actor Lee Min-ho turned 38 on June 22 and his celebration was a sight to behold.

In an Instagram post on his birthday, the Boys Over Flowers (2009) star wrote in Korean: “I am grateful for the love that allows me to exist today. I hope you are as happy as I am.”

The series of photographs showed the heart-throb in a room full of balloons, cakes, flower bouquets and bags of gifts. He was in an all-black outfit and wearing big smiles.

The actor is famed for his roles in South Korean hits such as City Hunter (2011), The Heirs (2013) and The Legend Of The Blue Sea (2016 to 2017).

Lee’s international success has also resulted in him having life-sized wax figures at three Madame Tussauds – in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore.

In 2022, Lee made his Hollywood debut in the TV drama Pachinko, which has earned critical acclaim. More recently, he appeared in K-drama When The Stars Gossip (2025) as an obstetrician-gynaecologist. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
