Hong Kong actress Anita Yuen made headlines in July last year when she was seen filming her new movie, OMG! Mom’s Big News, around Klang Valley.

The 53-year-old fondly recalled her stay in a recent interview with Hong Kong media, praising the pleasant weather, warm hospitality of the people and professionalism of the local crew.

“The weather was great, and the staff members were very hardworking.

“The people here get along well with each other and don’t alienate you just because you’re from a different country. There’s plenty of good food too,” she said.

Yuen certainly made the most of her time here, diving into Malaysia’s vibrant food scene and indulging in the wide variety of delicacies.

In an earlier interview with Sin Chew Daily, Yuen revealed that the very first thing she did upon arriving was eat durian. She also had her first taste of asam laksa.

But her food adventure didn’t stop there.

In fact, she indulged so much in Malaysia’s culinary offerings that she gained a lot of weight and struggled to fit into a pair of pants that once slipped on easily.

“Now, I have to suck my stomach in to button it up!” said the actress, who’s married to singer-actor Julian Cheung.

OMG! Mom’s Big News sees Yuen playing Rita Wong, a middle-aged woman whose plans for a peaceful retirement with her husband are upended by an unexpected pregnancy.

The flick also stars Malaysian talents Chan Fong, Tong Bing Yu, Juztin Lan and Miko Wong.
