K-pop star Min, from the now-disbanded girl group Miss A, is getting married.
The 33-year-old South Korean singer-actress announced the news on April 21 on Instagram, in Korean and English.
Posting several pictures from her pre-wedding photo shoot, she wrote: “Hey guys, I’m getting married this June! Through ups and downs, I’ve had someone by my side who always felt like home. We’ve decided to walk this next chapter of life together.”
The photos showed Min, whose real name is Lee Min-young, in different wedding gowns. One showed her fiance holding her hand and another showed them in an embrace. None of the photos revealed his face.
According to South Korean news outlet Sports Chosun, Min’s fiance is an entrepreneur. They have been dating since 2018, after being introduced by a mutual acquaintance.
Min’s agencies Monstar Entertainment and K-Tigers Entertainment confirmed the news and said she will be tying the knot on June 7 in a private ceremony held in Seoul.
Min made her debut in 2010 with the girl group Miss A under JYP Entertainment, alongside members Fei, Jia and Suzy. The group were known for songs like Bad Girl Good Girl (2010), I Don’t Need A Man (2012) and Hush (2013).
Min left JYP Entertainment in November 2017 after her contract expired, and Miss A disbanded in December that year.
In recent years, Min has released solo numbers like Onion (2021) and Hit Me Up (2022), and put out her debut EP Prime Time in 2024. She has pursued musical theatre and made her Broadway debut in 2022 in the musical Kpop, starring as a member of a K-pop group. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
