Actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh arrived to pay her final respects to former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (April 15).

The 62-year-old Oscar winner was seen entering the main prayer hall of the National Mosque around 11.15am wearing a headscarf and sunglasses.

Abdullah passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 7.10pm on Monday at the age of 85.

The news was shared by his son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin, through his Instagram Story.

Abdullah was Malaysia’s fifth prime minister, serving from Oct 31, 2003, to April 2, 2009. He became prime minister after Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad ended his 22-year tenure.

Affectionately known as Pak Lah, he is Malaysia's "Father of Human Capital Development".

Abdullah's remains were brought from his residence, Bait Badawi, located at Persiaran Tuanku Jaafar, at about 8.10am to the National Mosque for the final rites and funeral prayers.

The Star reported that the respected statesman will be accorded a state funeral and will be buried at the Heroes' Mausoleum at the National Mosque.
