Actress Datin Noor Azizah Azizul Hassan passed away at around 3am on Monday (April 7). She was 79.
The late Noor Azizah was at her residence in Kampung Sungai Paloh, Ipoh, Perak, when she took her last breath. It is reported she passed away after experiencing breathing difficulties.
The sad news was confirmed by her daughter, known as Khairena, to mStar, The Star's Malay-language entertainment portal.
Noor Azizah began her acting career in 1965 through the film Dayang Senandong.
However, she rose to fame through the film Enam Jahanam, directed by the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee in 1969.
Among the other films she acted in include Jangan Tinggal Daku, Kembang Layu, Durjana, Di Belakang Tabir, Perintah Sri Paduka, Kalau Berpaut Di Dahan Rapuh, Sayang Anakku Sayang, Cinta Dan Lagu and Pendekar.
The late Noor Azizah also expanded her career abroad by starring in several Indonesian films, like Malin Kundang in 1971, where she acted alongside Rano Karno.
She was also involved in an international production, appearing in an Australian drama series titled Bailey Bird.
