Taiwanese media personality and author Sisy Chen, who has been battling illnesses for years, has been dealt another devastating blow.

Just as she was preparing for discharge from the hospital, doctors discovered a new brain tumour that requires urgent treatment.

An MRI scan was taken after Chen informed the doctors that "a large black spot appeared in front of my eyes" forcing her to remain hospitalised.

The 66-year-old was diagnosed with stage one lung adenocarcinoma in 2019 and stage four lung melanoma in December 2024.

It's reported she was receiving immunotherapy at the National Taiwan University Hospital for melanoma.

A report in December stated that Chen was calm about death. What she feared the most was leaving behind her loved ones, especially her children.

In one of her Facebook posts she wrote that everyone shouldn't dwell in sadness, fear or anger. "We are all running out of time, put more thought into what part you should play in this world.”

With this new diagnosis, Chen took to Facebook once again to share that she would undergo a procedure in the coming days, followed by photon therapy.

The host of TV show Sisy’s World News remains resolute, writing: "My brain is now going to battle against cancer."

Chen also posted the lyrics to the song Don't Say Goodbye, revealing that her close friend, singer Tsai Chin, had promised to sing the song at her bedside, "holding my hands tightly, never letting go of our blessings for each other".

In the same post, she shared a dream she had in which she saw her late grandmother smiling at her.

In the dream, she asked, “Do I have to lose my sight to see you?” Her grandmother reassured her, saying, "Your uncle is here; he can bear the sky for you. Don't be afraid."
