Owen Cheung and Kelly Cheung have been named Malaysia's Favourite TVB Actor and Actress, respectively, at the annual TVB Anniversary Awards.

The glitzy affair was held yesterday (Jan 19) at Macau.

While accepting the award, Owen shouted a popular Malaysian phrase often heard during Chinese New Year: "Heng Ong Huat!"

The 37-year-old then thanked his Malaysian fans for voting for him in his acceptance speech.

"Apa khabar? Terima kasih! I want to fly to Malaysia soon to eat bak kut teh and prawn mee and hokkien mee to thank you," he said jubilantly.

"I once stood in the third row at the TVB Anniversary Ceremony and wondered when I would be able to stand on stage.

"When I played small roles in TV series, I also wondered when I could play big roles. It turns out there is hope and a future, as long as you want it!" said Owen who has been in the industry for 14 years.

He also clinched the Best Actor Award for his role as an undercover cop in the action-packed series No Room For Crime. The show also won the Best Drama Series award.

The other Cheung, Kelly (not related to Owen) took home the Malaysia's Favourite TVB Actress for her role in Big Biz Duel. The business drama was also named Malaysia's Favourite TV Series.

"I am grateful that there are many superheroes around who protect and support me to get to where I am now. I know that I have many shortcomings and I will continue to walk the path of an actor with a humble heart," Kelly, 34, said.

Kelly's co-star Katy Kung, took home the Best Actress award.
