Another Hollywood romance has come to an end, it seems.

American actress Jessica Alba and her film producer husband Cash Warren have reportedly separated and are preparing for divorce, according to TMZ.

The American tabloid cited “sources with direct knowledge” for the information, though representatives for the couple have yet to confirm the news.

This comes days after the 43-year-old actress shared photos on Instagram of her and Warren, 45, celebrating their youngest child Hayes’ birthday at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park in California.

Hayes turned seven on New Year’s Eve, although it is unclear when the theme park trip took place. The couple were also pictured with their other two children, daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13.

Alba had posted a picture of herself with Warren and their kids to wish her 21 million followers a happy holiday season over the Christmas period in 2024.

The couple met in 2004 on the set of superhero flick Fantastic Four (2005), which starred Alba. Warren was working on the movie as a director’s assistant. They married in 2008.

According to TMZ, Alba and Warren have been spotted without their wedding rings in recent months.

The couple’s decision to separate is speculated to be a relatively recent one.

In a post marking their 16th wedding anniversary in May 2024, Alba wrote: “16 years of marriage, 20 years together and forever to go. Happy anniversary, Cash Warren. I’m proud of us for making it this far. There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family. Through thick and thin, we have continually found our way back to each other and have chosen one another. Cheers to us, I love you.”

While the couple may be ending their marriage, they seem to still be on good terms. Aside from celebrating Christmas and Hayes’ birthday together, they had also travelled with their children to Mexico in November.

American entertainment news outlet People cited a source close to the couple, who said they are still friends.

The source said: “No matter what’s going on now, it seems they will remain close. If they’re filing for divorce, it’s not because of some hateful drama. They still look happy together.”

The source added that Alba had lamented about how hard it is to keep the spark going in the marriage.

She appeared on American author Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s Instagram show, Before, During And After Baby, in July 2021. Alba said of her marriage then: “It’s all rosy for 2½ years, but then after that you become roommates, and it’s just like you’re just going through the motions.” – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
