A week after the premiere of the fourth season of the hit series Only Murders In The Building, star Selena Gomez has reached billionaire status, making her one of the youngest women in the United States to hit that milestone.

While Only Murders reportedly earns the 32-year-old US$6mil per season, the actress and singer’s makeup brand, Rare Beauty, is credited for much of her estimated US$1.3bil net worth, according to Bloomberg.

Profitable sponsorship deals with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Coach and Puma have also amassed roughly US$50mil for the former child star.

Gomez, known for her mental health advocacy, also co-created the Wondermind platform with her mother in 2021. Described as a “mental fitness ecosystem,” Wondermind is worth approximately US$100mil, Bloomberg cited.

“What she’s doing is pretty smart,” Carolyn Sloane, a University of Chicago professor, told the outlet. “There has been this big shift throughout her career towards what fits her more authentically, which turns out to be better investment decisions.”

Last year, Gomez was named TikTok’s most popular artiste in the US, outranking other performers who made the top 10, including Ice Spice, Cardi B and Ariana Grande.

The former Disney Channel star, who came to fame on The Wizards Of Waverly Place, is the executive producer of a spinoff called Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, which premieres in October. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
