Malaysian singer Ezlynn Ariffin made headlines in March after helping her husband find a young second wife so she can focus on her career.

At the time, she took to Instagram to share a photo with her husband Wan Mohd Hafizam, 47, and said they were “still going strong”.

In a recent interview with Harian Metro, Ezlynn said many women in polygamous marriages have been asking her for advice on social media.

“They ask me how I handle (a polygamous relationship), so I shared what was good and helpful. I always say polygamy isn’t for everyone,” the 42-year-old said.

Ezlynn added that she can only share her opinions. At the end of day, however, the wives still need to raise their concerns to their husbands.

“If it’s bothering your mental health to the point you feel like you’re going crazy, then you need to discuss it. Don’t torture yourself,” she said.

While Ezlynn accepts her husband’s second marriage, she also acknowledges there are women who may feel upset about being in a polygamous relationship.

According to the singer, the husband needs to fulfill his duties well if he wants a polygamous marriage.

She also listed communication as a key factor in making a polygamous relationship work.

“If he ignores the first wife and doesn’t listen to her complaints, he shouldn’t marry again. Having discussions is so important.

“Their (the wives) concerns are often about feelings. In the initial months, they will feel sad, imperfect and think their husband no longer loves them,” she said.

Earlier in March, Ezlynn revealed that Wan Hafizam married a 26-year-old doctor in Perlis.

Ezlynn, who married Wan Hafizam in 2021, said her status changed to “first wife” after the latter divorced his two previous wives.
