Taiwanese television host Jacky Wu does not know where his wife of 34 years lives. That is because he has lived apart from Chang Wei-wei for many years.

This was revealed by Wu, 61, on July 27, when he attended an event in Taipei with his son, singer Rick Wu, 26, who goes by the stage name LucyPIE, and other artistes from his agency.

Jacky Wu also has three daughters, including TV host Sandy Wu, 33, with whom he co-hosts the variety show Super Entourage (2016 to present).

He admitted that he has not been under the same roof as Chang, 62, due to their different lifestyle habits.

“I like being alone by myself very much,” he said, revealing that he is living in a luxury mansion in Taipei.

Wu said he was shocked one day when he entered his home and heard sounds in his bathroom, as he was nude at that time, thinking there was no one around.

“Turned out it was a cleaner hired by Sandy to clean my house,” he said.

Wu, who admitted on a TV show in November 2020 that he is a good father but not a good husband, did not elaborate on the state of his marriage at the event. He has rarely spoken publicly about their relationship.

When asked by the media if he is still in contact with her, he replied: “Don’t ask this question. Everything is fine.”

He said he does not know where Chang’s current abode is, after which Rick replied she is in Neihu District in Taipei, the same district as the rest of the family members.

Wu, who infamously dated Taiwanese actress Vicky Chen in the late 1990s, was asked by the media if he had met the 54-year-old after she recently turned up at Sandy Wu’s cafe for an interview to promote her show.

“I haven’t met her in more than 20 years,” Jacky Wu said. “That relationship ended more than 20 years ago.”

When asked if he wept after they parted ways, he said poetically: “I turned around when we broke up that day, as I didn’t want the other person to see the tears in my eyes.” – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
