Taiwanese star Ella Chen reportedly behaving badly on set of new drama

There are some rumours swirling around the set of new Taiwanese drama Dr Lifesaver, starring Taiwanese actors Ella Chen and Jason Wang.

The series started airing in Taiwan on Nov 26, and is said to have 30 episodes in total.

According to an article on a Singaporean portal, 42-year-old Chen is making things difficult for other cast and crew with her number of demands.

The report stated that a demand she made was wanting to stay at a better hotel than her co-stars, with a footnote about the distance between the filming locations and her hotel.

The filming location for Dr Lifesaver is Chiayi City, situated in southwestern Taiwan.

Furthermore, the former member of the girl group S.H.E. allegedly only wanted to work for certain hours.

The report also mentioned that, during filming, Chen did not mingle with her co-stars. This included turning down their invitation for meals outside after filming was done for the day.

Instead, Chen chose to go back to her hotel room to rest.

If these rumours have any truth to them, it's peculiar behaviour, especially considering that the actress from Magical Love was voted Taiwan's most unpretentious artiste by online fans in 2007

According to the report, her inappropriate behaviour wasn't limited to the set; it also extended to the show's gala premiere.

Chen, who is the lead actress, apparently didn't turn up for the event, after finding out that the lead actor Wang was not going to be present.

While she stated that her reason for not attending the event was due to other commitments, a source claimed that she had told the crew it would be awkward to attend the premiere without the lead actor present.

Her action apparently angered Wang – who had to miss the premiere as he was busy filming at another location.

Well, let's hope the series is done filming because it would be awkward to turn up for work when the mood on set does not sound all that great, thanks to Chen.
