Chinese actress Xin Zhilei recently revealed that her mother once threw a pair of scissors at her during an argument.

In an episode of reality show Divas Hit The Road 5, Xin, 37, recalled having a big argument with her mum when she was around 10 years old.

The Haunting Love (2012) star said her mum, who was cutting something at the time, got so angry she flung the scissors at her.

“The scissors came flying towards me... It scared me so much but luckily, the scissors was small,” she said.

Xin added that after complaining to her grandmother about the incident, the latter chased her mum with a stick.

“That’s when I knew (short temper) is hereditary,” she joked.

Xin’s story became a hot topic among netizens in China, with many expressing concerns and having debates about parenting on social media.

However, the actress quickly took to Weibo to clarify things for her mum.

“First of all, I used to be very naughty! Secondly, she threw a small pair of scissors used to trim eyebrows, and it pierced my cotton pants!

“Thirdly, she loves me very much and is gentle most of the time. She only lost her temper that one time,” she wrote.

Xin, who made her acting debut in the 2011 series Painted Skin, is best known for her roles in Bunshinsaba 2 (2013), Crosscurrent (2016) and Brotherhood Of Blades II: The Infernal Battlefield (2017).

She also starred in The Rescue (2020) and sang the song Crazy Waves for the film.
