The venue for South Korean boy band iKON's July 22 concert in Kuala Lumpur has been changed from the Mines International Exhibition And Convention Centre (MIECC) to Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

According to a statement from organisers Jojo Events and My Event International, the venue became available after an unexpected booking cancellation by a third party.

"We believe that Axiata Arena is the best possible venue for the concert. With its modern facility and impressive capacity, fans will be provided with the best concert experience," the statement read.

To make the concert accessible to more fans, an additional category, CAT 5, has been introduced. Its tickets were priced at RM198 and quickly sold out after its sale earlier at noon.

Soundcheck tickets, priced at RM1,088, were snapped up too.

To those who have yet to secure a spot, don't fret as you can enjoy an additional 15% discount for a CAT 1 ticket with the promo code "IKONKL15".

All tickets can be purchased from www.ticket2u.com.my.

For existing ticket holders, the updated venue information and seating plan will be emailed to their registered email accounts.

Last month, the organisers announced that iKON would be bringing its Take Off World Tour to MIECC.

However, many disgruntled fans complained that the venue was not suitable for a concert as there were no elevated seats, and called for the organisers to change the venue to Axiata Arena or Malawati Indoor Stadium in Shah Alam.

iKON last performed in Malaysia in 2018.

The band of six is known for hits like Love Scenario, My Type and Dumb & Dumber among others.
