Cantopop singer Eason Chan held his concert for three consecutive nights from May 12-14 at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil as part of his Fear And Dreams World Tour 2023.

During his time in Malaysia, Chan had the opportunity to reunite with Malaysian badminton icon Datuk Lee Chong Wei.

In a Facebook post on Monday (May 15), Lee shared a photo of him and his son with the Hong Kong star backstage.

The 40-year-old badminton legend hailed Chan as “one of the most talented singers” and praised his strong vocals.

“Eason Chan to me, (is) one of the most talented singers ever. He could sing all types of songs, any kind of rhythm and every selection of genre. He is just that good.

“His (vocal) range and stability mesmerised thousands (who) attended his concert. Eason Chan, you are just awesome,” Lee captioned.

In his post, the former Olympian shared that some of his favourite songs from the 48-year-old artiste are Today Next Year, Ten Years, Dan Che, Happy Ferris Wheel and Long Time No See among others.

“He is just as awesome (as) when I last met him six years ago. And btw (by the way), he is a good badminton player,” Lee added in the comment section, along with a photo of him with Chan at what appeared to be a badminton court.

The post, which has amassed well over 30,000 likes at the time of writing, gained positive reactions from netizens, with many gushing over the friendly interaction.

“Both of you are legends,” said one netizen.

“The God Of Badminton meets up with the God Of Song,” another noted.

“So lucky that you and your son got to meet him!” said another.
