Rosario Dawson is back and the Force is with her.
The award-winning actress — known for notable turns in the films Kids, Rent and Sin City — is reprising her role as Ahsoka Tano in the self-titled Star Wars series based on the fan favourite character first seen in 2019′s The Mandalorian.
The first teaser trailer of the anticipated Disney+ fantasy spinoff premiered at Friday’s Star Wars Celebration in London.
In the clip, the Clone Wars hero – described in the synopsis as a warrior, outcast, rebel and Jedi – warns of a dark threat she can “sense” that’s coming to wreak havoc. As revealed later, the unseen threat is Star Wars Rebels villain Thrawn.
Ahsoka takes place five years after the events of 1983′s Star Wars: Episode VI – Return Of The Jedi.
Dawson, who was last seen in the role in 2021′s The Book of Boba Fett, leads the cast including Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Hayden Christensen – best known for his portrayal of Anakin Skywalker a.k.a. Darth Vader.
Written by Dave Filoni, Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ Hotstar in August. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
