The body of a musician who went missing for three days has finally been discovered.
Guatemalan rapper Nesly Monterroso was found dead inside a barrel hidden in the trunk of an abandoned vehicle. She was 27.
Monterroso’s remains were discovered on Monday (Dec 5). Police made the grisly discovery after local residents within the area reported a suspicious-looking vehicle.
The US Sun reported that the rapper went missing three days prior and was last seen leaving an office she owned in Guatemala city – close to where her body was found.
According to the National Institute Of Forensic Sciences, the Enigma rapper was killed by a strong blow to the head.
Officials in the Public Prosecutor's Office For Crimes Against Life And Integrity Of Persons confirmed her death and claimed that the barrel in which the remains were found was secured with a rope.
At the moment, there is no clear motive for Monterroso’s murder, and the police have yet to release a statement.
Residents at the scene claimed that the rapper’s body was "discovered with signs of extreme violence". They also alleged there was a strange liquid in the barrel.
However, authorities have yet to confirm these details.
