Seeing the people you love most getting hurt is a traumatising experience. Chinese actress Zhang Zhaoyi can attest to that.

Zhang recently shared on Weibo that her one-year-old daughter and husband were injured after a glass door in her bathroom unexpectedly shattered.

The 27-year-old, who rose to fame as a child actress, revealed that the incident happened on Nov 1.

“I can’t believe we have to go to the hospital right on the day lockdowns are lifted,” Zhang wrote.

The actress and her family reside in Zhengzhou which had been on lockdown for almost a month following a spike in Covid-19 cases. Due to public pressure, however, Chinese authorities have agreed to ease lockdown restrictions.

She shared pictures of her injured family and bathroom floor covered in glass shards on Weibo.

In the photos, her husband could be seen receiving treatment, his hand and shirt covered in blood while her daughter Youyou could be seen crying as blood trickled from the side of her head.

“This is a safety hazard! Youyou’s head is covered in blood,” she wrote, adding that her daughter also fractured her head.

Seeing the horrifying pictures, netizens rushed to express their concerns in the comment section.

Responding to a netizen, Zhang revealed that she would not be installing glass doors in her home again as she was too frightened by the accident.

She also advised everyone with glass doors to be cautious.
