The actor currently playing the Man of Steel on the big screen will see another day in the role.

Following his surprise appearance in the post-credits scene of Black Adam, which opened globally over the weekend, Henry Cavill has confirmed that he is “back as Superman.”

The British heartthrob, who starred as the Kryptonian superhero in four other DC Comics-based blockbusters, took to social media on Monday to share the news after his cameo in Teth-Adam’s tragic origin story.

“I wanted to wait until the weekend was over before posting this because I wanted to give you all a chance to watch Black Adam,” Cavill posted in a Monday video on Instagram. “But now that plenty of you have, I wanted to make it official: I am back as Superman.”

The 39-year-old Enola Holmes star claimed that his appearance in the film and the photograph of him wearing the Superman outfit “are only a very little taste of things to come.”

In 2018, contract negotiations reportedly fell apart between the actor and Warner Bros., leading him to step away from the role.

“The dawn of hope renewed,” Cavill wrote in the caption. “Thank you for your patience, it will be rewarded.”
