Hong Kong actress Stephy Tang is a woman of her word.

In September, Tang's new film Table For Six premiered in Hong Kong after a delay of seven months.

To entice her fans to go to the cinemas to watch her new flick, Tang made a promise: if the film earned HK$60mil (RM36mil), she would post a photo of herself in a swimsuit. Later, she upped the figure to HK$70mil.

Challenge accepted, say her fans.

The comedy, which also stars Dayo Wong, Louis Cheung Kai Chung and Ivana Wong, has earned over HK$70mil at the Hong Kong box office.

Tang kept her end of the bargain as she posted on Instagram a photo of herself in a plunging neckline one-piece swimwear in conjunction with her 39th birthday on Saturday (Oct 15).

“As the saying goes, it’s not good to start the New Year and birthday in debt. So, I am paying off my debt on my birthday," Tang said referring to her swimsuit promise.

Initially, Table For Six was supposed to be released on Feb 9 as a Chinese New Year film, however due to the pandemic, the comedy was shelved.

The movie tells of a family reunion dinner which turns awkward when Bernard invites his new girlfriend Monica (played by Tang) to join in the festivity. Unbeknownst to him, she happens to be his brother's old flame.

To make matters worse, the brother's part-time girlfriend Meow also turns up for dinner! Now, that’s a recipe for disaster.

Table For Six is currently showing at local cinemas nationwide.
