It is a love story almost 20 years in the making.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck walked down the aisle over the weekend in Las Vegas, 18 years after they broke up.
Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, married at a late-night drive-through chapel called A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, the United States on Saturday night (July 16).
"Stick around long enough and maybe you'll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at 12:30 in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with," Lopez told her fans through her newsletter, On The JLo.
Lopez's children (with Marc Anthony) – Emme and Max, as well as Affleck's kids (with Jennifer Garner) – Violet, Samuel and Seraphina, were witnesses at the wedding.
Lopez wore two different dresses for the simple ceremony.
The first dress, a boatneck design, was something she has had for years, apparently from a movie she worked on.
"I've had this dress for so many years, and I've just been saving it, saving it, saving it, and now I'm wearing it on my wedding day," the Let's Get Loud singer said.
Then at the chapel, Lopez changed into a va-va-voom bridal gown by Zuhair Murad.
According to People magazine, the wedding dress is a "white lace, off-the-shoulder design featuring long sleeves, a sweetheart neckline, corset bodice and fishtail train".
Meanwhile, Affleck wore a white tux pulled from his closet.
Lopez added on her newsletter: "So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben's closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we'll wear for the rest of our lives,"
"They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle. But in the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last."
She signed off the newsletter using her husband's surname: "With love, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck."
Lopez and Affleck met on the set of the widely panned movie Gigli in 2002 and started dating. They were supposed to marry the following year but postponed the nuptials and subsequently announced their relationship was over in 2004.
They started dating again last year after Lopez broke up from Alex Rodriguez.
This is Lopez's fourth marriage and Affleck's second.
