BigBang makes its much-awaited comeback with the release of the music video for its new single Still Life.
This is the group’s first release in nearly four years.
It's reported that members G-Dragon and T.O.P. participated in composing and writing the lyrics of Still Life.
The group’s last single was Flower Road, released in 2018. It was then a five-member group.
BigBang halted its musical activities after the sex abuse and drug scandal involving member Seungri, and the nightclub he was affiliated with, came to light.
Seungri left the group in 2019.
During the four-year hiatus, members T.O.P, G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung all enlisted for their compulsory military service as is required in South Korea.
In February, the group's label YG Entertainment announced that BigBang will be releasing new music soon.
Another change within Big Bang is that T.O.P. did not renew his contract with YG Entertainment, but it’s reported that he will “join the band’s activities whenever the situations allow”.
In its heyday, BigBang had a number of major hits like Lies (2007), Last Farewell (2008) and Haru Haru (2008).
The boy band also won various awards in South Korea and overseas, including the best worldwide act award at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2011, making it the first K-pop act to reach this milestone.
